Some days ago one of my sister's friend(novice web developer using Joomla or Wordpress ) sent a mail to me along with the subject what can I do now??And the content of her mail was only:

Warning: Parameter 1 to modMainMenuHelper::buildXML() expected to be a reference.
Warning: Parameter 1 to modMainMenuHelper::buildXML() expected to be a reference.
...... on line 143...

Then I reply with only a line of text with no subject :

This is  occurred due the php version 5.3 and joomla is not certified to work with PHP 5.3.0.So,
You need to change some of your code in your files.

Again she sent me a mail Hey man! It's also well known to me but where and in which file I have to modify?

Then I gave her this solution: Hello, Billy akhoali(cat's like eyes)!
you have to edit

../modules/mod_mainmenu/helper.php   [this is the file ]

function buildXML(&$params)      [this line has thrown you in trouble ]

just change it to

function buildXML($params)

Now save it And I wish your problem should be solved.

A common cause of this error is disposing a context that was resolved from dependency injection and then later trying to use the same context instance elsewhere in your application. This may occur if you are calling Dispose() on the context, or wrapping the context in a using statement. Basic Concepts on J2ME: We can divide J2ME framework into three main parts namely Configurations, profiles and optional packages Configurations : A configuration contains the KVM and important class libraries, It defin...
